Sunshine Blogger Tag!

I’m so excited to be doing my first blog tag!! Lately I’d been thinking about them and wondering how they work and if someone would ever nominate me, so I was super excited when my friend Emily from Rooted Scribbles did! Alayna from Lilac and Ramble also tagged me! Thank you both!

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and give a link to their blog.
  • Answer the questions.
  • Nominate 11 bloggers and ask 11 questions.

Now I need to stop overthinking and post this already.

Emily’s questions:

1. Who is your all time favorite character? (It can be from a book or movie)

At first I thought “oh no! How will I choose just one?” Then I thought of Bilbo Baggins. A simple Hobbit, quirky and a homebody, yet chosen to be a Burgler on an adventure with a bunch of dwarves! How appalling! If you haven’t read The Hobbit or watched the corresponding movie trilogy, you should! (Note: read the book first!! You won’t regret it)

2. What is your favorite flower?

Tiger lilies! (Well, actually they’re day lilies, but I like to call them that) I think they’re so gorgeous and I always look foreword to the time of year when they bloom!

3. If you were an animal, what would you be? Why?

Whenever I think of this question, squirrels usually come to mind. Why a squirrel? Because they’re so quirky and free and independent and adventurous, and they don’t care what others think of them. Plus, saying the name “squirrel” over and over in my head makes it sound funny and… charming XD.

4. If you had your own boat, what would you name it?

Oo I’ve never thought of this before! Maybe the Merry Daydream. It sounds cheerful, and the daydream part adds a bit of mystery and a hint at endless possibilities.

5. What’s a talent you have that isn’t useful but still impressive?

Um, maybe that I can sense when a song I know is on at the store, even if I can barely hear it. It’ll sneak in the back of my mind, and then I’ll realize that’s what’s playing. Maybe that happens to everyone, though.

6. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

I used to think my name was so boring, but now I see that it fits me just right! Plain Jane, nice, tomboyish. But that wasn’t the question lol. I’ve always liked the name Gertrude and it’s nickname, Gerty. It means “spear of strength.”

7. What is your favorite song right now?

Oh dear. This is tough! I have a lot of favorites right now. At the moment, I’m listening to “It’s Always Been You” by Phil Wickham, and it’s definitely among my favorite songs.

8. What weird food combination do you enjoy?

Umm, I don’t think I have any… lol.

9. What movie can you watch over and over again and never get tired of?

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is the first one that came to mind! I’ve watched it many times with the fam and it’s still a blast!

10. What mythical creature do you wish actually existed?

Dragons for sure. But they did exist, right? *brings up childhood thoughts of Chinese people leading brightly colored dragons on leashes* I’d like fairies to exist too, and all the shy woodland fantastical creatures. I still like to think I might come upon some one mysterious night. Oh, the lovely world of fantasy!

11. Where do you feel most at home (besides your own home)

At grandma and grandpa’s house! (On my mom’s side and then my adopted grandparents) I might even feel more at home there then I do at our own house (we moved here a little over 2 years ago). We recently returned from Easter vacation at their houses!

Alayna’s questions:

1. What are 5 words that describe you?

Let’s see… imaginative, artistic, procrastinatory (yes, that’s a word. I looked it up), quiet, deep, and perfectionistic.

2. What would a perfect day look like for you?

No schedule. At all. I’ll get up as late as I want. I’ll paint or draw, then do some swimming. An evening bike ride at “the doggie park” with the fam will be great, then a great movie with pizza and popcorn. Everything will be very relaxed and laid back. That’s just one version of a perfect day for me.

3. Do you have a favorite number?

7

4. Which virtue do you value the most?

If I were to pick just one, it would probably be humility.

5. What is your favorite animated movie?

Probably Tintin, the movie I mentioned before. Also The Very First Noel, a Christmas family favorite we all have memorized.

6. What is your favorite scent?

Probably the smell of fresh air after a rain.

7. Sky or sea?

Sea. The sky sure is beautiful, but there’s much more mystery in the sea. For me, at least.

8. How do you think your view of yourself differs from other people’s views of you?

The last thing I want is for someone to think I’m shallow, and that’s one thing I’ve been afraid more outgoing people judge me for.

I have pretty low self esteem, so I most likely think more poorly of myself then other people.

Other people might view me as shy and too quiet in some social situations, but it’s honestly one or a combination of 3 things. 1) I feel I have nothing to contribute to the conversation, 2) the people intimidate me/I don’t match their energy, and 3) the topic doesn’t interest me. I am shy sometimes, but not so much as people might think.

Some people might think I smile too much (I think I do too sometimes lol), but it’s because I want to be more friendly and approachable.

I could probably go on for a while attempting to answer this question, but to be honest, I don’t know for sure how other people view me.

9. What is your favorite beverage?

Besides good, filtered water (we had the best filtered water ever at our old house. Haven’t had any like it since), I like Starbucks coffee. Haven’t been there enough to tell you my favorite drink, though. Maybe the caramel macchiato.

10. What is your favorite day of the week?

Friday. It’s movie night and I get to stay up as late as I want. Sunday is a close second!

11. What is your least favorite animal?

Hmm, what are my options here? Maybe some type of spider, like the Black Widow or something (sorry Natasha). Also centipedes (ick!).

Ok, now for the bloggers I nominate. I don’t know of many that haven’t already been chosen, so I’ll do my best 🙂 (I don’t know if all of you do blog tags, so you don’t have to if you don’t want to)

Now for my questions:

1. What is your favorite book? Why?

2. What’s a unique interest of yours?

3. Do you prefer the country or the city? Why?

4. What is something that gets you excited?

5. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

6. What’s your favorite season of the year?

7. What time period would you like to step into?

8. What -in your opinion- two colors go together best?

9. What is your favorite quote?

10. You’re a warrior, what is your weapon of choice?

11. If you were a character’s sidekick, who’s would you be? (They can be from a book or movie)

Well, thanks for reading through all that, Hobbitses! Feel free to comment on how you would answer these questions. Bye for now!

  1. Thank you for picking me, Emma:) I enjoyed answering your questions. I shall answer them here since I don’t really blog:

    1. What is your favorite book? Why?
    – I don’t really have a favorite book at all. I just have favorite authors like Sara Ella, S C Lewis, and Tolkien. I’m not too picky about authors or books though.

    2. What’s a unique interest of yours?
    – ever since I was a kid, I’ve been completely obsessed with anything like clear jewels, glass, marbles, and stuff like that. I had a treasure box filled with all kinds of clear, jewel looking stuff and I even had a section of clear legos at one point😂 I’ll still buy stuff like that all the time just because it’s pretty and keep it in my room to look at😂 I’ve been interested in glass blowing, resin making, and all kinds of stuff like that.

    3. Do you prefer the country or the city? Why?
    – I prefer both because I love being out in nature hiking mountains and enjoying it, but I love going on vacation to cool cities like Gatlinburg, Chicago, and Pensacola or Hobe Sound. Basically I’d like to live in the country and go to cities on vacation, since I have a very wide variety of interests of where I’d like to go around the world

    4. What is something that gets you excited?
    – I don’t get excited very easily unless I’m around my friends. I could go to the best places in the world or do my favorite things but if my friends aren’t involved, I won’t be very interested or excited at all. Finding similarities with people gets me excited.

    5. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
    – People are constantly telling me I’m an introvert and I hate being around people but I’ll be an extrovert when I’m around good people that care about me, or at least I feel like they might. If I know no one or I’m feeling alone, I’ll be the most introverted person ever, so I think it depends on how people treat me

    6. What’s your favorite season of the year?
    – my favorite season is probably both summer and fall, but I can’t really choose a true favorite because I have to choose between being allergic to hundreds of mosquitoes all summer, or being cold all the time.

    7. What time period would you like to step into?
    – I’d like to step into the early 1900’s to see what the fashion was like back then, and see how much we’ve changed as a country in our mannerisms and technology.

    8. What -in your opinion- two colors go together best?
    – I think green and white go together well…. I’m obsessed with neutral and natural interior decorating so I love a lot of plants and white in the house.

    9. What is your favorite quote?
    – my favorite quote is probably more of a profound one that’s just stood out to me throughout my life for some reason, and I found it pretty encouraging in a way.
“I’d rather stand with God and be judged by the world, than stand with the world, and be judged by God.” – unknown

    10. You’re a warrior, what is your weapon of choice?
    – perhaps I’d go with a gun just because I consider myself to be good at aiming. If I were to choose a more traditional weapon, I might choose a bow and arrow.

    11. If you were a character’s sidekick, who’s would you be? (They can be from a book or movie)
    – I would probably be Bucky Barnes since apparently he’s considered a sidekick. I might also be Hermione Granger, Groot, Gandalf, or Sam. Those are just my favorites, but idk which fits me best
