Hello there, Hobbitses, it’s been a while I know. I’m here to talk about the artists I mainly listened to this year (according to Spotify). I’ve had Spotify for about 2 years now. Music is a big part of my life, and the total time of music listened on Spotify is 35,512 minutes, which averages to about an hour and a half per day. I wonder if those minutes include all the adds *facepalm*
Spotify Wrapped gave me my top five artists, which are: for KING & COUNTRY, Coldplay, Apollo LTD, John Michael Howell, and Noah Schnacky.

Despite me being a huge fan of for KING & COUNTRY, I didn’t expect them to be my top artist again, since I feel like I really branched out this year. “Need You More” was a song I kept playing by them. It is such a raw, meaningful song to me which echoes my heart’s cry of needing God more. If you don’t know the story behind that song, you should totally look into it.
Ever since I discovered Coldplay back in 2021 (I wasn’t exposed to much new music before I got Spotify), I fell in love with their Alternative sound and lyrics that take me far away. “Paradise” has always been my favorite song by them, as I feel it expresses my sentiments exactly, so unsurprisingly it was my most replayed song by them.
“DNA” by Apollo LTD was a song Spotify kept shoving at me and would always play after random songs on shuffle or on my daily mixes. Gradually I started liking it, enjoying it, and now it’s one of my favorites by them. On September 6, I painted my room grey and listened to their songs on repeat the entire time.
John Michael Howell has been a favorite of mine ever since I discovered him in early 2021. My most listened to song by him was probably “Hypothetically”. Either that or “Introverted”. Both are fun, catchy songs that are also #relateable. For y’all JMH fans out there, can you believe he cut his hair?! Looks good tho.
I had a phase earlier this year where I listened to Noah Schnacky. A lot. His voice combined with the country twang in his songs make them soothing to listen to. At least I think so. My most listened to song by him was probably “Don’t You Wanna Know.”
Well Hobbitses, I’ll do a part two on the top songs in my Spotify Wrapped tomorrow. Y’all are free to comment your top listened to artists of 2022 if you want 🙂
